Bland slips up at European Open

SOUTHAMPTON European Tour pro Richard Bland endured a difficult first day at the European Open this morning.
Bland carded a three-over-par 75 at the Royal London Golf Club, Kent.
The 35-year-old, who started on the back nine, bogeyed the 11th, but moved to one under with back-to-back birdies at the 14th and 15th holes.
However, bogeys at the fourth, fifth and a double at the sixth dropped him back to three-over.
Hampshire's Justin Rose is making a rare appearance in Britain for the tournament, and is due off at 1pm.
